Glossitis - Symptom, Causes, Treatment of Glossitis
Glossitis ia the irritation of the tongue, that becomes red, swollen and sore, and may be
glassy
than usual or cracked.
Reasons of Glossitis include infection; damage by sharp teeth or dentures;
inordinate
alcohol, tobacco, spicy food, hot food or hot drinks; and allergy to
toothpaste, mouthwashes, food colouring and (seldom) dental filling or denture material.
Glossitis can
as well be a symptom of
vulgarised disease such as anemia, vitamin B insufficiency and
life-threatening skin diseases.
Treatment is by correction of the reason.
